Knit two beautiful girls' cardigans with this versatile double knitting pattern, featuring a choice of decorative bell edging or a classic moss-stitch finish.
The bell-edge cardigan has an attractive textured patchwork design with raised stitch panels, a softly shaped neckline, decorative bell-shaped frills at the cuffs and hem, and pretty button-front fastening. The alternative moss-stitch cardigan offers a simpler, timeless finish with coordinating textured borders.
The original photographs show the bell-edge cardigan in pastel blue and the moss-stitch cardigan in white. Both designs can be knitted in your preferred colours using suitable DK yarn.

• Two girls' cardigan designs
• Cardigan with decorative bell edging
• Cardigan with moss-stitch edging
• Four sizes: 1–2, 3–4, 5–6 and 7–8 years
• To fit chest: 56, 61, 66 and 71 cm
• Actual finished chest: 57, 65, 72 and 80 cm
• Textured square-pattern stitch panels
• Long sleeves with decorative edging
• Button-front fastening
• Shaped neckline and front borders
• Detailed knitting and finishing instructions
Materials Required:
• Double knitting (DK) yarn
• Approximately 4, 5, 6 or 7 x 50g balls, depending on size and design
• 3.25 mm and 4 mm knitting needles
• 3.25 mm circular knitting needle for the bell-edge cardigan, if preferred
• Buttons as specified for the chosen size
• Stitch holders and sewing needle for finishing
Tension: 21 stitches and 30 rows over 10 cm (4 inches) in pattern stitch, using the needle size required to achieve tension.
